Cardinal Tobin Visits

On Saturday, November 16th, Joseph William Cardinal Tobin, Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Newark, , visited the Community of God’s Love (CGL) and offered Mass.  This was the Cardinal’s first visit to the CGL and he was warmly greeted by Community members.  The Mass was also the CGL’s annual Covenant Liturgy, during which some members recommit to the group’s covenant (every year a third of the CGL is eligible for recommitment).

Following the Mass, the Cardinal and Community members enjoyed a time of fellowship and refreshment.  The CGL members were impressed by the Cardinal’s friendliness and approachability. The Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Philip Latronico, the CGL’s Chaplain, and Fr. Joseph Scarangella, Pastor of the Church of St. Mary, Closter, NJ.

Interested in Spiritual Direction?

Spiritual directiom offers an opportunity to explore what is happening in your life and to recognize where God might be in that experience.  Learning how to be attentive or notice God's presence and action in our lives is a big part of what spiritual direction seeks to do.  This new awareness often leads the directee to make life choices based on their new awareness of what God is doing in their life.

Generally, an individual seeking direction meets with his/her director once a month for an hour.  The following spiritual directors have been trained at the Quellen Spiritual Center in Mendham, N.J. and are available for individual spiritual direction in Rutherford, N.J.  The sessions are offered freely without compensation.  If you are interested and wish to speak with a director for an appointment or further information please contact the following spiritual directors:
